Tajira McCoy currently serves as Director of Admissions and Scholarship Programs at Berkeley Law. She earned her BS from California State University, Northridge, and her J.D. from Southwestern Law School. Prior to attending Law School, Tajira worked in long-term care insurance administration.

Before joining the admissions staff at Berkeley Law, Tajira served as Assistant Dean of Admission at the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. She was also Director of Law Admissions at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and an adjust instructor, teaching Diversity and the Law to Loyola’s undergraduate honors program students. Tajira also served as admission counselor at Southwestern Law School.

Professionally, Tajira has served as the information officer for the Minority Network of Law School Professionals and is an active volunteer for the Law School Admissions Council, previously serving as a member of the Diversity Committee, the DiscoverLaw.org PLUS Subcommittee, the Misconduct and Irregularities in the Admission Process Subcommittee, and the International Recruiting Ad Hoc Work Group. She currently serves as a member of the LSAC’s Annual Meeting and Educational Conference 2018 Planning Work Group.
